VEX Robotics is an educational program designed for students in middle school, high school and college programs who are interested in the world of technologies, specifically STEM. VEX Robotics is designed to teach students about engineering, math, science, and technology, all in a fun, interesting way that allows them to build and program whatever they wish. Additionally, each year VEX releases a competition, which utilizes a 12′ by 12′ field, each year providing a different challenge, and incorporating VEX’s core values. Students are challenged to design and build a robot as a team to compete against other teams around the world, each looking for a shot at the prestigious World Excellence Champions award.
VEX is great for students who want to learn more about the fields of engineering and technology, or for students who want to develop a better understanding of science and technology. These skills can be pursued by the variety of aspects of VEX such as the programming, animation, mechanical design, and online media parts to VEX.
LeRoi Robotics is an independent Vex Robotics Competition team comprised of various hard-working high school students from York region. They share their knowledge and promote STEM learning through competing in the VRC game, where they design, fabricate, and program different types of robots to compete in various season tournaments.
Since 2018, the team has established many achievements and honed their skills, expanding from one single team to two teams currently. The team’s core values revolve around dedication, passion, and teamwork. Aimed at creating opportunities for students interested in robotics to become involved in STEM learning, the team holds workshops and mentors other rookie robotics team to inspire others.
81208G is an all-girls rookie team. They believe in the importance of STEM education in daily lives and always look for practical solutions. Majoring in STEM, they aim to enhance their skills and learn more through the participation of the Vex Robotics Competition to further inspire more girls to be involved in robotics.
They won Design Award during the event of Innovation VEX Robotics Skills Challenge 2. They qualified to the Ontario Provincial Championships on April 17. 2021.
